Description
ODEON is a specialized software for designing and simulating acoustic environments, published by Odeon A/S. You can use this software to measure various acoustic parameters and create standard environments for live orchestra performances. The capabilities of the software don’t end here, and by having basic raw data and enough information, you can also check the impact of the conditions outside the acoustic room and increase the accuracy of the simulation process as much as possible. The user and operator of the software must first design the room environment in three dimensions and then determine the material of the different surfaces. By providing all this information, the user can predict the acoustic properties of a room and even listen to the sound created in the environment in a completely live and simulated way.
This software uses image-based methods and ray tracing algorithms to provide the best results. The user interface and workflow of this software is very simple and smooth, and different users are able to master the tools and different aspects of the software as quickly as possible. The calculations made by this software are very fast and accurate, and its results can be used in real projects. It is possible to show the results and final data to the user in different formats.
Features and features of ODEON software:
- Very simple and user-friendly interface
- The possibility of using maps and environments designed in software SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros And …
- Support for different formats such as dxf, dwg, 3ds, stl,obj , step, stpiges and igs
- Using simplification algorithms to reduce the number of levels in different 3D models
- The possibility of using different sound sources depending on the application and type of simulation, such as point sources, linear or surface sources, and array sources.
- The possibility of using different building materials and supplies for surfaces
- Classification of different materials and materials based on the amount of absorption coefficient in the range of 63Hz to 8000Hz

- Using different filters to get the best frequency response
required system
Operating Systems: ODEON is a 32 bit Windows® application running on Windows® 10 (32 bit version as well as 64 bit version).
Older versions of Windows® are not actively supported, but in principle ODEON will work flawlessly on Windows® 8 (32 bit version as well as 64 bit version), Windows® 7 (32 bit version as well as 64 bit version) and Windows® Vista (32 bit version as well as 64 bit version).
Installation on OSX systems is not supported. ODEON can in principle run on OSX using a Windows emulator or installed on a Windows partition. Many users choose this option instead of a PC, but since possible system instabilities may occur, such a use is solely the responsibility of the user.
RAM: recommended 2 GB.
Free Disk Space: Minimum 20 GB, recommended 300 GB. ODEON is a fairly light program, consuming small space in temporary (RAM) memory, but it needs a generous space on Hard Disk. During calculations it creates files that are written to the hard disk, releasing the temporary memory (RAM). Both simulation and auralization files can be quite large, their size depending heavily on the type of room/project. So, managing the disk space is up to the user.
CPU: Minimum 1 GHz Intel Pentium® recommended. Multi core processors (such as i7 or Xeon) are recommended for fast parallel calculations.
Graphics card: SVGA graphics display/adapter.
Sound card: Sound card (for surround loudspeaker playback the sound card should typically support multiple channels eg 4.1, 5.1 and 7.1 – up to 50.1 supported).
Ports: USB port for plugging in the Dongle.
