Course description
Electrical 3 Phase Power Transformers Fundamentals is a complete course to learn the basics of high voltage transformers from the point of view of protection and control. Electromagnetic forces interact with electrically charged particles and electromagnetic fields. This course examines how these forces convert voltage and current. Ratios and polarity are also studied, which leads to the introduction of potential transformers and current transformers and their use in connection with related instruments such as ammeters, voltmeters, wattmeters, and energy meters.
In this course, the construction of the transformer core along with cooling losses and reduction techniques. 3 phase transformer configuration along with harmonic distortion, CT saturation and tap changer problems in load and how to deal with these problems are studied. Differential transformer overcurrent protection and containment has been developed with a look at some examples of “old school relays” as well as modern IDE (Intelligent Electrical Devices) relays.
What you will learn in this course:
- Familiarity with electromagnetism, voltage and current conversion, ratios and polarity, potential and current transformers, construction of 3-phase transformers, transformer classification, losses and cooling, in each unit, etc.
