Houdini for Absolute Beginners is a Houdini training course designed for the beginner level. We will start with the basic navigation of Houdini and get familiar with the user interface. And then we’ll talk about geometry grouping and geometry properties and create two procedural projects. First we create a procedural spiral staircase and then a procedural nuclear reactor cooling tower. After that, we’ll learn about VEX and VOP, work with VOPs, and learn to write VEX code and create projection transforms in both VEX and VOP. After we have a good understanding of the Houdini SOPs, we will delve into the Houdini DOP terrain and create dynamic simulations, learn about volumes and voxels, and build a smoke simulation network. After that we will learn about pyro solvers and create fire simulations to create sparks for the fire and then we will learn about explosions and create an explosion project.
