Description
FEFLOW is a professional software for modeling and simulating underground water flow. Using this program, experts can simulate transport processes in porous aquifer environments in saturated and unsaturated conditions. This program uses Finite Element Analysis (FEA) technique to solve equations and problems related to underground water flows. All solutions are provided considering conditions such as water saturation or non-aqueousness, mass, heat transfer coefficient, molecular/chemical composition, etc.
This program was first introduced by Hans-Jörg G. Diersch in 1979. He worked on the development of this software at the Institute of Mechanics located in the Berlin Academy of Sciences, Germany, until the 1990s. With the release of the product to the market for many years, this program was developed according to customer feedback and significant improvements were achieved. Later this program became part of DHI-WASY and experienced extensive improvements by the professional team of this group. One of the most important features of this program, which has given it a noticeable advantage over other common software in the field of hydrology and hydrology, is the program structure and excellent visual display of data.
This program supports well GIS software and other types of conventional output files in hydrological programs and can easily exchange information with these software.
