Color Grading with Da Vinci Resolve: Beginner to Advanced course, practical and project-oriented color grading training. Well, there’s no magic here (Blackmagic doesn’t count), just hard graft and technical know-how. This course takes you from a solid start, right on the way to advanced, professional color grading using the perfect post-production solution. The Da Vinci Solution The tutorials I provide are from real world projects where I was paid to support my labor. I’m going to walk you through how I approach each of these projects to achieve professional results. I am a Blackmagic Design Certified Instructor in Da Vinci Resolve and have been color grading professionally for over nine years. In that time I have produced work for brands such as Unilever, Greggs Bakery, TNT Logistics, Joules (a UK clothing line), NHS, BBC and Virgin Airlines. It does not end there either. I have produced drama and reality work for broadcast and web, as well as feature films for international distribution.
I draw from my experiences in this course because I know what it feels like to have no one to teach you. When I started grading my film course in college, there was no teacher to teach me how to grade at all. I spent long nights in the grading suite (some winter days I really missed the sun completely) teaching myself to use Resolve from scratch. It paid off when I provided grading work for the BBC’s Wildlife Unit on a project that became Life Stories while still at university! But why did it happen? I still believe if I had found the right exercises earlier I would be much better now, when there is no one around to challenge you, bad habits are harder to break! Therefore, this course is my attempt to provide this support and training to many people, all for a very small price.
