Course description
Numerical Methods in MATLAB for Engineering Students Part 2 is the second part of the numerical analysis course using MATLAB. In this course, you will learn about interpolation and curve fitting techniques. Interpolation and curve fitting are widely used by scientists and engineers because every experiment produces data and we need to model these data with mathematics, for which we use interpolation and curve fitting techniques. In this course, we focus on the methods that are usually taught at the undergraduate level.
In this course, we will implement various methods on the computer using MATLAB. Things like least squares regression, polynomial regression, interpolation of Lagrangian polynomials, Newton’s divided differences, linear splines, quadratic splines, cubic splines and the implementation of these methods in MATLAB are covered.
What you will learn in this course:
- Least Squares Regression
- Interpolation of Lagrange polynomials
- Curve fitting
- Multinomial regression
- Linear, Quadratic and Cubic Splines
- Interpolation
Who is this course suitable for?
