HP has officially announced that it has won the HyperX brand for the design and production of gaming accessories on the PC platform with a contract worth $ 425 million.
The HyperX brand has been officially added to the sub-brand of HP in the field of PC accessories such as gaming headsets and keyboards , and the purchase contract is expected to be finalized by the second quarter of the company’s fiscal year. Under the agreement, all HyperX brand accessories will be assembled in a predetermined process. In fact, HyperX is still one of Kingston’s brands, and the deal will only include gaming accessories. Therefore, Kingston will still be able to produce and promote products such as RAM and SSD, although it is not yet clear whether the brand will remain unchanged or will be marketed under a new name and logo.
It should be noted that HP bought VoodooPC, a manufacturer of personalized computers, a few years ago to acquire the only OMEN brand that previously belonged to VoodooPC . Therefore, it is likely that HP is trying to create a single, standard brand by producing its various products under the OMEN brand.
An official from HP, the company’s public relations department, said of the Hyperix purchase:
“HyperX is one of the leading brands in the field of designing and manufacturing gaming accessories and its products have been welcomed by gamers from all over the world. “We are pleased to welcome their exceptional team at HP.”
“Enrique Lawrence, President of HP Inc ,”
“By modernizing the user experience and making valuable changes, we will continue to strengthen our pioneering drive in personal systems.” “We see great opportunities in the growing hardware market, and the addition of HyperX to the company’s subsidiary will create new sources of growth and innovation for us.”
