How to change the screen resolution without rooting the Android device

The way to do this is very simple. It is enough that the device is in USB Debugging mode.

Step 1 – First, enable USB Debugging on your device. To do this, go to Settings -> About Page -> Build Number. Tap the Build Number item seven times to let you know that the Developer options are enabled.

Step 2 – In this step, go to Settings -> Developer Options -> USB debugging. In this section, enable USB debugging mode.

Step 3 – Now it’s time to connect your Android device to the computer via USB cable and open the command prompt on PC. After that, type the following command:

adb shell

Wait a few moments and then type the following command:

dumpsys display | grep mBaseDisplayInfo

After executing the above command, look for the Density value (photo above). Note the current DPI values. Because in the next step you have to replace them.

Step 4 – Android DPI values ​​vary between 120 and 640. Choose the best and most perfect DPI that matches the size of the phone. Enter the following command in the command prompt and be sure to replace the DPI value with the number of your choice.

wm density [dpi] && adb reboot

and over! If you want to change the screen resolution of your Android device, but you are not interested in rooting it at all, you can easily succeed by doing a few commands above to get what you want. Your device will reset once to see a different resolution.
