Four different ways to check the serial number and IMEI of Android devices

check the serial number and IMEI of Android devices

The serial number is a unique number intended for phones and tablets. Being unique means that a serial number cannot be assigned to phones or tablets. Companies and users use the serial number to ensure that their goods are not counterfeit or that they have not purchased a stolen phone. Of course, companies also use the serial numbers of devices to provide warranty services. But how can we check the serial number of Android devices and make sure that the device we are going to buy is not counterfeit or stolen?

The serial number is an almost long string consisting of letters and numbers. Each device manufacturer has its own serial number, and some may use low characters and some may use large characters, but in either case the serial numbers of the two devices are not supposed to be the same. If such a rule does not apply to the device, it is likely that the product is counterfeit or that the serial number has been tampered with by the person intending to sell the device.

The first method is to check the serial number on the box of the device

The first way to help you find a serial number is to check the product box. On the box of all phones and tablets, there is a label that describes the specifications of the device and one of the important information on it is the serial number. Serial numbers are usually indicated by the term S / N , which is the Serial Number . In addition to the serial number of the dialect, another feature called IMEI is also included on the packages, which is important. In fact, whenever your phone is lost or stolen, you can use the IMEI number to find your phone. For this reason, the importance and use of IMEI is more than the serial number. On dual SIM phones you will see two IMEI numbers .

The second method is to check under the battery and the back of the device

In the corners and tablets where the battery can be removed, remove the battery from the device and look at the label under the battery. This label contains information about the model, serial number and IMEI of the device. If you are using a phone or tablet with an integral battery, the above specifications are in the form of a sticker on the back of the device. If such a label is not on the phone, ask the seller for the reason, especially if you are planning to buy a second-hand phone. If you are planning to sell your phone in the future, it is better to remove this sticker from the phone and keep it in a suitable place so that you do not face any problems at the time of sale.

The third method is to check the serial number of the phone and tablet through Android settings

In the Android settings section, information related to the serial number and IMEI number is entered. To check this, touch the gear on the right side of the screen and go to the device settings. On the screen above , touch About Phone , About Tablet or About Device . In the next step , touch the Status option. Note that the name and location of the above option are different on Android phones. In some phones, the above information is included in the hardware part of the phone.

On the next page there are options related to IMEI and Serial Number . In front of each of these fields is a set of numbers.

If you are unable to view the above information, you need to touch the above options and go to the next page. If you do not find the above information, do a Google search.

The fourth method, the phone * # 06 # number of the

If none of the above methods work, dial the command code * # 06 # . As soon as you dial, a screen will appear  showing the phone’s serial number and IMEI number .

Note that the serial number and IMEI number of the phone or tablet are very valuable and the above information should not be given to everyone. As a result, it is better to go to the reputable centers of your phone only when your phone breaks down and do not easily provide the above information to anyone.
