Description

Riviera is a high-level software for evaluating and simulating chips FPGA and ASIC and SoC devices. This program has simulation capabilities HDL developed at an advanced level and supports the most advanced evaluation methodologies such as functional coverage, OVM, UVM, hardware acceleration and prototyping. Riviera is a new generation of engineering tools that was previously published as Riviera-Classic and is now available in two 32-bit and 64-bit versions. This program has provided complete automation for the design, modeling and simulation of these chips by using an efficient simulator engine, advanced debugging capabilities at different abstraction levels and supporting the latest version of hardware description languages and standard evaluation library.

Features and features of Riviera:

  • High-level simulator with optimal and efficient algorithms
  • Support for simulation languages VHDL, Verilog, SystemC and their combined use
  • Ability to simulate the most complex systems
  • Support for the latest standard libraries including Universal Evaluation Methodology or UVM
  • Debugging in all abstraction layers
  • UVM toolbox
  • Class viewer and UVM Graph
  • Comprehensive assessment using SVA and PSL methods
  • And …

Single Core vs. Dual or Multi Core
Riviera-PRO is a multithreaded application, thus choosing a multi-core CPU is better than a single-core one.

The effect of using multi-core CPU would be seen the most in case of interactive work with the Riviera-PRO’s GUI while the simulation is running (the simulation will occupy one processor core, while the GUI operations will run on the other).

In addition, the VHDL compiler takes advantage of multi-core CPU to reduce the compilation time.

Even if you don’t browse the waveform or edit your code while your simulation is running, having a multi-core CPU will let your other applications be more responsive while you run a simulation in the background.

Frequency and CPU Cache size
Typically the approach here is the more the better.

Note that a larger CPU cache has a positive impact on performance.

CPU architecture – 32 vs. 64 bits
The CPU architecture only matters if Riviera-PRO needs to allocate several gigabytes of RAM to run your design.

64 bit architecture enables allocation of 4GB RAM even for the 32 bit applications (like Riviera-PRO on Windows)

32 bit architecture is limited to 2GB on Windows and Linux that can be optionally increased up to 3GB. So, if simulation of your design does not require more than 2GB of RAM then feel free to select any CPU architecture.

Graphic card
No special recommendations here but the faster the card the more responsive GUI operations such as Waveform will be (in case of scrolling through large files, zooming, etc.).

RAM size
32 bit OS we recommend at least 3GB of RAM.

On 64 bit OS we recommend 4GB or more.

Note that these recommendations are considered for running one simulation in Riviera-PRO on the machine at a time. If you plan to run more than one simulation at a time than multiply the above numbers accordingly.

32 bit OS vs. 64 bit OS
The same recommendations as for selecting the CPU architecture apply

Installation guide

Read the Readme.txt file in the Crack folder.

The 2014 64-bit version was removed due to the problem with the crack and non-execution. Use the 32-bit version.

Note: The software does not run in virtual environments.

The 2014 32-bit version has been installed and successfully activated on 10 September 1401 in Windows 11 64-bit.
