BOSfluids software from the company The Dutch Dynaflow Research Group BV is used in the field of analysis and simulation of surge phenomena in power plants and pipelines. Surge phenomenon is generally mentioned in gas and liquid pipelines and it studies the causes of pressure fluctuation and ways to fix it. Surge, or in other words, a sudden change in pressure in pipelines can be caused by various reasons that happen in a planned or unplanned way. For example, simple reasons such as the opening and closing of a valve or inlet valve may be mentioned, or more complex reasons such as malfunctioning of pumps. With the help of this software, engineers are able to perform search analysis and simulation processes in a fully interactive and visual environment.

This software has a function beyond a simple surge analysis software and can help the user in the fields of simulating stable pressure flow in pipelines and estimating successive pressure fluctuations in pipes. This software can simulate single-phase liquid flow in different pipelines. These assumptions are applicable to achieve accurate and practical results in a wide range of power plants and pipelines.
