Carlson Precision 3D is a suitable software for creating and editing digital terrain models or Digital Terrain Model (DTM). DTM is a three-dimensional model of the earth’s surface that stores the X, Y, Z coordinates of a specific area of the earth. In this model, all features of the land including lakes, ridges, border lines and other elevations are taken into account. Due to the consideration of all terrain effects, DTMs provide a very accurate model of the earth’s surface, and programs such as Carlson Precision 3D are designed for the 3D display of these models. The 3D model of these complications provides very good information to engineers.
In addition to the standard formats of this software, namely TIN and Grd, this program also accepts two other famous data formats called LandXML and DXF.
