Description
JSONSelect is an experimental language selector for JSON and makes it easy to access data in JSON documents. JSONSelect defines a language very similar in syntax and structure to the CSS3 selector. Expressions in this program are patterns that can be matched in JSON documents. Potential applications include:
- Simplified application matching in JSON documents
- Stream filtering allows efficient document matching and augmentation.
- As a query language for document databases.
The specifications of this program are in three levels. Higher levels include more robust structures and are thus more complex to implement and use.
Features and facilities:
- JSONSelect Level 1: is a small subset of CSS3. Each attribute is derived from a css structure directly to JSON. A level 1 implementation providing query features is not particularly complex.
- JSONSelect Level 2: Created a more complex CSS structure on level 1, which allows expressions with constraints such as patterns to be matched against a value. Level 2 is still an adaptation of CSS.
- JSONSelect Level 3: Adding structures that necessarily have direct analogues in CSS, which are added to increase the power and convenience of the selector language, and include aliases, functions in the form of classes, etc.
