During the course, we use several industrial process control software products – Pitops, Simcet, Process Control CBT and ACSSI. This course assumes that participants have completed PID100 (PID100 is a prerequisite for this APC200 course). Participants use real time series plant data and identify multivariate closed-loop/open-loop dynamics. They then build various control schemes inside the Pitops software – cascade, constraint cancellation, maximize and minimize constraint controllers, selectors, model-based controllers, dead time compensators and many others.

This course is designed primarily for engineers, but offers tremendous value to operators, technicians, and supervisors. PiControl software products are very easy to use in this course so that even new and inexperienced technicians can easily follow the course. This course also covers the advanced functions of PID controllers in more detail.
