Description
Process Chemical Engineering 101 course – Preparing you for the Job. Most young engineers learn the basic math needed to get hired as a process/chemical engineer, but not the actual job requirements. This course will give you more insight and a better understanding of what a process/chemical engineer needs to do when entering the industry. This acronym teaches you the stages of design development, covering most of the tasks and deliverables (eg drawings and documents) that a process engineer must complete as part of an engineering design. I’ll walk you through some examples, starting with an SOW and basic design, that form the basis of a simple project to show you what is typically required of a process/chemical engineer in industry. I will give you an insight into the role and some guidance to help you in your career from the perspective of a Senior Process Engineer who has been working since 1990 and has mentored many trainers. This course is designed to better prepare you for work as a process/chemical engineer, including the challenges you will face, the skills you will need beyond the maths you learn in school.
