- Open Instagram
- Tap on your profile
- Tap the three-line icon at the top of the screen
- Tap Settings
- Click on Privacy and security
- Tap Clear search history
- Tap Clear search history again
We will review the steps again for more details. After opening the Instagram app on your phone, click on your profile picture in the lower right corner of the page. On the next screen, click on the three horizontal lines icon in the upper right corner of the screen, then select the Settings option at the bottom of the screen.
Doing so will give you another set of options, from which you must select the Privacy and security option, then scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Clear search history option. Tap on it and then select Clear search history from the options that appear.
Now if you go to the Search and Explore section of Instagram , by clicking on the armor icon you should be able to find your previously searched phrases that have been deleted.
The Instagram website warns that “Note that clearing your search history is temporary, and these searches that you clear may reappear in your history after re-searching.”
This warning indicates that you should remember that if you use Instagram, you will not have complete control over your data and use it.
