important tasks for the security of the phone

Increase the security of your Android phone with these solutions

There is an app for every aspect of life. From online banking to social networking. Given that our phones contain our most sensitive and important information, it is very important that we protect them. In today’s article, we are going to review the security issue in Android and review ways to improve it.

How secure is Android?

Android has many security features to protect your phone against any kind of threat. Penetration into the phone to use the data is still an important problem and malicious apps often appear in the Play Store. But the correct use of pre-built security settings in Android can minimize these risks.

However, the security of the phone also depends on us: the do’s and don’ts we need to do to keep all information safe.

How to protect your Android phone from hackers

Find my phone

We pay bills with the phone , write emails and keep a lot of information on it. This puts our digital identity at constant risk of theft. Fortunately, we can track our device, lock the screen, or delete all data using the Find My Device feature. This feature is enabled by default in Android , but we suggest that you make sure that the Find y Device feature is enabled. To access the phone , you must:

– Be turned on

– Logged in to your Google Account

– Connected to mobile data or WiFi

– Visible on Google Play

– Its locator is activated

– Find My Deivce feature is enabled

Lock screen settings

Android security starts with a lock screen: you can protect your device with a PIN, password, pattern or fingerprint. Avoid very simple PINs like 1234 or 0000 separately. Create a really strong password instead.

One of the features that Android  gives you is “Smart Lock” (Smart Lock) that keeps the phone in safe environments such as home, your desk at work, car or clothing pocket. Automatically locks the phone when Android detects that you are not currently in a familiar place . This feature is very convenient, but if you are looking for maximum security, we do not recommend it.

Lockdown mode

When the Lockdown feature is enabled, it blocks all Smart Lock features such as fingerprints or face recognition, and instead asks you for a PIN, password, or a predefined pattern to log in to.

The Lockdown feature only works once: if you have enabled it and entered a PIN, you must re-enable it to enable it again.

In the worst case, if someone forces you to unlock the phone, it becomes easier to use biometric data. PINs may even be more secure in these situations. I hope you never need this feature. But it is better to prepare yourself.

Two-step authentication

Enable two-step authentication if you want to add an extra layer of security to your Google Account. In addition to the password, two-step authentication requires you to enter a security code or any other information.

If your password is hacked, it will still protect your information if two-step authentication is enabled. While two-step authentication does not increase the security of your phone , it can optimize information security in general .

We recommend using 2FA on any service or app that offers this feature. To enable two-step authentication for your Google Account:

1. On your device, go to Settings> Google> Manage your Google Account.

2- Click on Security and find 2-step verification.

3. Log in to your Google Account, touch Get Started and follow the steps on the screen.

App permissions

Apps always ask for permission to access their camera, audience, location, or even microphone. Some apps have no reason to request and can do their job without them. Sometimes we approve such requests without questioning them.

Fortunately, checking and changing permissions is easy:

1. Go to Settings and touch Apps.

2. Then select Permissions.

3. You will see a list of different licenses that your apps have obtained.

4. Select what you want to check and see which apps have them.

Disable apps you do not trust or think do not require any permissions.

Always read other users’ opinions for each app you want to install and research them online.

Google Play Protect

Play Protect scans more than 100 billion apps every day to track any malware activity and suspicious activity. Additionally, it scans all apps on your phone and alerts you if they are out of date. Then, the user has to decide whether he wants to keep the app on the phone or whether he will look for alternatives.

Google Play Protect is enabled by default on Android devices . To find it:

1- Open the “Play Store” app on the device.

2. Tap on three horizontal points.

3. Select Play Protect.

Turn off WiFi and Bluetooth

Turn them off when you are not using WiFi and Bluetooth. This not only increases your battery life, but also makes your phone more secure. When the phone’s Bluetooth is on, it is constantly searching for possible connections.
