This year, Xiaomi is set to return to competition in this market with the introduction of the Mi Pad 5 tablet. Today, the possible price and specifications of Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 were leaked.

Xiaomi seemed to have abandoned the tablet market because it had not had a product in this segment for almost two years. The last device that the company introduced in this segment was the Mi Pad 4 in June 2018 and it did not sell very well.

After the outbreak of COVID 19 and the availability of online training and virtual offices, the demand for electronics and personal computers has increased, and this has helped to reconsider tablets. Xu Jieyun of Xiaomi Mobile and Telephone Group announced that after a two-year hiatus , the company will resume operations in the tablet sector.Specifications of Xiaomi 5

While many details have not been officially announced by Xiaomi yet, the specifications of Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and its possible features have been published online. While the published renderings cannot be trusted 100%, the published images show the design of the back, front and camera of the device along with its possible specifications.

Let’s go to the device specifications. This device has a 2K / 144 Hz screen. This display is full screen and will have a touch sampling rate of 480 Hz. The fifth generation Corning Gorilla Glass is supposed to protect this LCD screen.Specifications of Xiaomi 5

In the camera section, there is a multiple module. The main camera of the device is 20 megapixels and a 13 megapixel macro lens is placed next to it. The main sensor of the device will be IMX586 made by Sony.

Similar to what we’ve seen on the Apple iPad, the frame and surrounds of the Pad 5 are covered in aluminum alloy. Support for fingerprint sensor and magnetic capacitive pen are other features of this product.

The beating heart of this tablet is the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 is set to be introduced in several versions, including:

  • Version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory priced at 3999 yuan ($ 619)
  • Version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory for 4299 yuan ($ 666)
  • Version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory for 4999 yuan ($ 774)
  • Version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory priced at 3999 yuan ($ 619)
  • And the best version , with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage priced at 5499 yuan ($ 851)

If these published renderings are reliable, we should consider the Pad 5 a high-end tablet that aims to compete with the products of Apple, Huawei and Samsung. This device is one of the first tablets that Xiaomi has considered for the powerful market segment.
