Twitter has long been working on the development of Spaces voice chat room, and about two months ago made this feature available to iOS users. Now some Android users can also use the beta version of the new Twitter feature developed in competition with Clubhouse.

In the trial version, not all features of the voice chat room space are available to users. For example, currently only a limited number of iOS users can create dedicated chat rooms in the Spaces space and listen to voice chats. Android users, for now, can only join pre-created roms.

But Twitter has announced that after reviewing the feedback and ending the testing period of this feature, it will make the possibility of creating a dedicated chat room and other features available to all users. Twitter has prioritized Spaces ‌ women and certain groups to access the demo version of the Spaces feature.

The release date of the public version of Spaces voice chat room has not been determined by Twitter yet. Users in the voice chat room can talk to each other and listen to conversations in chat rooms.

Over the past few months, Twitter has paid special attention to the voice chat room space. Last year, it made it possible for some of its users to record and send voice messages for 140 seconds in a limited way, which was criticized. Some users have taken to Twitter to criticize the fact that voice messages do not have text or text support, and therefore users with hearing problems can not use this feature.

A report in the New York Times in late February said that Facebook was also working on copying the idea of the Clubhouse startup, but that work was apparently in its infancy and it was unclear when it would hit the market. Startup Clubhouse is a purely audio social network that started in 2020.

The field of audio podcasts and social networks seems to be getting a lot of attention, and various companies are trying to have a say in this industry.
